Today we had another survey, but I promise this is the last one! At least until the end of the semester!
We didn't get to do too much! After we got through our surveys we tackled out Reading Autobiographies! We didn't get to finish them so we'll complete them next class! No Worries!
We then rushed to get to our cold reading. We did not spend the time I'd have liked to spend on it, but don't fret! It's not a reading test, but rather an insight in your understanding of the reading. There are no right answers here!
We began reading the abstract and although we only got through the first sentence we got a sense of what the reading was playing off of: the "fact" that research in reading and writing has mostly focused on how meaning (how a reading makes sense) is made through writing. Hmmm interesting!
We left the Cold Reading for homework! We agreed on Saturday Midnight for the deadline to get our Cold Reading in and posted on the blog! Remember we have to do the Cold Reading BEFORE we do our whole reading of Brandt's article. Thats our only homework! Despite that fact, it is incredibly important! If you don't read you'll have a hard time keeping up with our activities for Tuesday, and it means that you'll start off behind! Not a great place to start! :O
ReCap:
We Did a LASSI Survey
We posted some of our Reading Auto-bios up on the blog, didn't get to finish though, so we'll return to them on Tuesday!
We got a quick and dirty intro to our cold reading assignment! Next time we'll try ur hardest to complete these in class!
Homework:
Due No later than Saturday at Midnight: Cold Reading on Brandt, response to Questions posted to our class blog.
Due Before Class Starts on Tuesday: Have read all of our first reading: Brandt's "Remembering Reading, Remembering Writing."
See you guys on Tuesday! I swear no more surveys!!! @_@!
Oh!! And I'm reading over your Bios and I'm totally blown away! Maybe we'll add a little to em every week or so to see how they end up near the end of the semester! :D I'm totally blown away by some of the objects you've described, the moments you have to read because, well, you have to, and by those moments you've shared that you've enjoyed are are looking forward to! Very general I know! I'm trying to get everyone in here! I'll comment on them soon! :D
