We discussed the situation that brought us all together! Woot! We escaped a canceled class and better still, we have a small class! That means we'll have the opportunity to really get to know each other, explore our understanding of reading and get all the attention we need to successfully get through this class!
After a bit of an awkward introduction on my part (Sorry guys, I can't help the weirdness! I am who I am) we moved quickly into our syllabus! While I read you all my philosophy toward this course as well as the kinds of assignments and grading procedures, I want to encourage you to return to the syllabus and read through it! If anything is unclear or leaves you wanting a better explanation write it down and ask me during our next meeting! (And while you're at it think about how you tackled reading the syllabus itself! What did you do to get through it, what did you note, where did you ask questions?)
We then worked on a quick survey! I've read through them and I have to say I'm reallye xcited to work with you guys! I'm really blown away by the connection many of you saw between reading and writing, the kinds of readings you enjoy and do on your spare time, and your understanding of what it is to learn! Seriously just blown away! I'm excited to get together next class meet and talk about these ideas! :D
Lastly we connected up to our class blog and linked up to our google docs! If you created an account with blogger, you should also be able to access your google docs account! They're connected, so long as you used the same email when you signed up for blogger (your broncs email!)
I had a writing assignment for homework, but I pushed it back! We'll tackle it in class next time! Instead for homework I simply asked you to locate our 3 major readings for the semester (they're off to the right on this blog, under Class Links Reading 01, Reading 02, and reading 03!) and print them out! Bring these three print outs to class on Thursday (it'll be the easiest grade you've ever got)!
