What I Think About Reading

When i think of reading for some reason a computer comes to mind. I think that I relate reading to computers because of the accelerated reader program in elementary school. The program was designed to encourage elementary students to want to read. The student checks out a book, reads it, and then tests on a computer for points. The student with the most points at the end of the year was rewarded. I think i was driven by the rewards. I like to read but i dont read enough. If im reading something I like i feel entertained. If i read some type of research i feel like my head is swollen. I associate school with reading. I read nursing journals at work and drs orders I read in spurts. I read a chapter or two pause then start up again. Ive always been taught to succeed in school you need to read ahead and repeat the readings. Out of school my grandmother usually reads the monthly best seller. I read too many tabloids and on sundays the newspaper is thrown all over my house. Recently I've started reading childrens books with my three yr old.
