Today we focused on preping for Our Next Writing assignment for ENG 1301. Every Tuesday from this point on will be dedicated to preping for ENG 1301. That will include everything from brainstorming, writing, getting peer feedback, and revising! I want to extend the invitation to Andres, Aaron and John to come in and use this time to prep for, and work on your writing for ENG 1301!
We looked at the two essay options your ENG 1301 Instructor gave you, and after discussing each a little we all decided we wanted to further discuss Option 2: What does it mean to write with authority in college?
After discussing what 'Authority in writing' meant we began to compile a list of diffrent things we do as writers, in our writing, and with writing that allow is to have Authority of/in our writing.

Using our Expirences in writing
Quoting
Research: Primary vs Secondary
Summarizing vs Responding
Writing things in our own words
How we write about our Sources
It was a difficult conversation and we found ourselves asking how uch authority we really ever have when we write something. This confuzzeled space is a great place to be! Working your way through it will help you as you begin writing! (Crazy as it sounds! It's true!)
